Snap Maps - Snapchat is an extremely popular app with young people and they have recently launched a new feature called Snap Maps. This location based map allows users to see where in the country their Snapchat contacts are, as well as seeing location based photos and videos.
Many young people will have ‘friends’ on Snapchat that they have never met in person, consequently, this could mean that those people are able to use Snap Maps to build up a picture of where your child lives, where they go to school and where they spend their free time. It is therefore important that young people consider who they share this information with and they are encouraged to regularly update their privacy settings.
